Our Operation

In support of exploration and development of quality coal mining production for the republic of Indonesia’a energy security

Basic Operational Principles

Good Mining Practice (GMP) is a crucial concept in the mining industry to ensure safe, responsible, and sustainable operations. GMP encompasses the planning and management of mines, considering all aspects from upstream to downstream, with the aim of minimizing negative impacts and optimizing positive ones.

PT. Energi Batu Hitam is committed to implementing Good Mining Practices (GMP) in every aspect of its operations. In accordance with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Regulation No. 26 of 2018 on the Implementation of Good Mining Practices and Supervision of Mineral and Coal Mining, PT. Energi Batu Hitam adopts various policies and practices to ensure responsible, safe, and sustainable mining activities.

The 6 aspects of mining are:

  • Mining Engineering Aspects

Implementation of Exploration Techniques: Includes literature study, geological and topographic mapping, and core drilling to determine resource potential.

Mine Planning and Implementation: Using block-by-block sequential mining methods, as well as efficient mining to reduce coal loss.

Transportation and Sales: Involves planning transportation routes from the pit to the Coal Processing Plant (CPP) and to the loading port, as well as ensuring safe and effective transportation.

Licensing and Reporting: Involves reporting for RKAB, production results, explosives usage, and fuel usage in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • Aspects of Mineral and Coal Resource Conservation

Reserve Management: Recollecting and evaluating unmined resources and reserves, and minimizing losses during the mining process.

Low Quality Coal Processing: Blending with high calorie coal to increase selling value.

Marginal Reserve Utilization: Negotiation and cooperation with neighboring IUP or PKP2B to optimize the mining of marginal reserves.

Licensing and reporting related to conservation aspects: Mining Recovery Report, Residual Reserves Report, New Reserves Discovery Report.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Aspects

Work Safety: Strive to avoid work accidents that cause loss of work time.

Occupational Health: Prevention of occupational diseases and provision of health facilities at the work site.

OHS Management System: Conduct safety inductions, briefings, and other programs to increase OHS awareness.

  • Safety Aspects of Mining Operations

Equipment Maintenance: Creation of SOPs for maintenance and security of mine facilities and infrastructure.

Competency of Engineering Personnel: Regular training and supervision to ensure the safety and feasibility of operations.

Evaluation and Reporting: Periodic reports to ensure operation safety in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • Environmental Protection Aspect

Environmental Management: In accordance with the AMDAL document and reclamation plan, including revegetation and closure of mined land.

Post-mining Management: Establishment and disbursement of post-mining guarantees and fulfillment of environmental quality standards.

Licensing and Reporting: Reporting environmental management periodically in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • Aspects of Standardization and Mining Services Business

Standards Management: Implementation of operational standards in every aspect of engineering and safety operations.

Technology Development: Innovation and development of efficient technology to support environmentally friendly and safe mining operations.

Regulatory Compliance: Following existing regulations and reporting as required to ensure quality standards.
